Annete Leibovitz wrote of a mother who wondered if it was too late to write
a letter to the hospital that they should present donating breastmilk as an
option to women who have had a stillborn baby.

It is never too late to engage in grief work or to work to change things in
a way that would have been more helpful during grieving. What one person
would have found helpful, others might find helpful, too. Many people do
such work months to years after a loss because they were unable, for myriad
reasons, to do so at the time of the loss. This work may complete something
uncompleted, be a way of honoring the memory of the person who was lost,
and make a real, positive difference for others who experience a loss.

Best wishes to the mother,

Cynthia
