It sounds like you are being awfully hard on yourself! You are obviously a
thoughtful, caring person. It is not easy to get just the right "mix" when
teaching a breastfeeding class and trying new approaches can be risky, but
worth the effort. You *will* find the format and content that best suits
your audience and also keeps you enthusiastic.

Maybe you are achieving your main objective of getting your clients to "
think a little out the box"? It is not always a comfortable experience -
hence the negative comments.

I tend to focus more on the "how to" and assume that they all want to
breastfeed. The hazards of formula do creep in, but not as a particular
focus. (I give many handouts, too!) I start by asking the class why they
think we need to spend two hours discussing a "natural process". I ask them
why they think women run into problems and what concerns and questions they
have re breastfeeding. We come back to this list at the end to make sure we
have covered all their questions.

Good luck.
