Another mom called me tonight. Her baby is 6 weeks old and still
has a bili of 9. Baby was born at 6#11oz, at 4 wks was 9#4oz, is
awake, alert, peeing, and pooping, but still has the bili of 9.
At 4 days his bili was 16, went down slowly to 10, was 9 last week
and is still 9 now. Pediatrician doesn't know what to think. He
did an SMA test, which came out OK, no liver obstruction. But the
question is--should anyone be concerned that the count is not down
to ? by now? If there are concerns, what should they be? Any
ideas?
Thanks for your collective wisdom. You've taught me so much.
