I would be more bothered by the display if only pumps were available but
since things like nursing pads and a breastfeeding pillow were available I
thought it was good for moms who don't pump. And particularly since it is
Medela. I don't know much about them but they seem pretty decent. i used to
order their free crib cards when I worked labor and delivery as a CNA. The
hospital has only formula cards. It was quite an unsupportive hospital and I
did all I could to support breastfeeding, which got me in trouble a time or
two. And i must admit to sabatoging a few breastfeeding info folders but
trashing the formula items and taking formula out of bags for breastfeeding
moms. One NICU nurse once told me that she thought that giving out samples
of formula had no bearing whatsoever on whether or not moms continue nursing
and another nurse told a new mom to absolutely not let her baby make her a
human pacifier. I was horrified at both these statements since new moms are
so vulnerable and feel the hospital staff is infallible.
