Heather wonders whether cultural differences make BF logs more acceptable
some places than others.  I think so!  Where I live it would likely be
laughed at but not followed, by mothers.  Health care professionals would
understand the neurosis that led to the production of such logs and the
longer their education, the more likely they would be to try using them
before discovering that life is easier if you Watch The Baby.  I know of one
example of a self-imposed log, maintained by the mother for many weeks,
including number of minutes fed on which side at which time of day and
number and character of soiled diapers... all while the baby was thriving.
She stopped at last, laughs about it now, and used to present it at work as
an example of how obstetricians react to becoming mothers.

And Heather, I think the RCT idea is a good one.
