While not disregarding the seriousness of increasing amounts of toxins, its
important to remember that one of the primary reasons that breastmilk is
tested for toxic load is simply because it’s one of the more accessible,
un-invasively procured bodily fluids.   
The headlines wouldn’t be nearly as dramatic if they screamed "500 men's
urine samples reveal increasing toxicity" or "Blood tests of female adult
population sample reveal increased toxic load". 
An awareness of environmental contaminants are an issue for all of us, not
just mums and babies.
