Dear Lactnet Friends:

Melinda asks a challenging question. I assume by donor milk, (as milk bank
is listed), informal sharing networks are also out.

I wonder what is going on that alternatives to human milk for a human
infant would be sought.

That said, has this person considered making the Weston Price recipe?  Raw
cow milk is healthier than processed cow milk, which contains xanthine
oxidase ( formed when cow's milk is pasteurized that is thought by some to
cause lesions in the arteries) and has had its dynamic qualities destroyed.
I tried to set up a research study comparing babies fed WA formula with
breastfed babies but couldn't find a large enough sample; I was planning to
look at Hgb levels in the second half of the first year as an objective
outcome measure.
