Sometime last year The New Yorker magazine published an article by John
Seabrook titled "Sleeping With the Baby" in which, among other things, he
tracked down Dr. Ferber and asked him about this, and Ferber basically said
that he doesn't like the way what he wrote has played out in the real world.
I think maybe he said he no longer believes that the crying part is healthy
for 4 mos olds?  but I forget the details -- if you need it you can probably
find the article in the library.  (The New Yorker isn't online, annoyingly.)
