Funny, when I first saw this headline, I didn't at all see the negative
connotation that you saw, although I can now see your point (ie - people may
read this as "infant mortality due to breastfeeding").

Instead, I was thinking - hurrah! - we are finally starting to point out
that "all breastfeeding is not created equal". So, for example, moms
would realize that "breastfeeding like bottlefeeding" (to a schedule, no
co-sleeping, early solids, etc), and on-cue, unlimited, exclusive
breastfeeding are very different. And that people should realize that they
will see different health outcomes because of that. All those moms that
breastfeed (perhaps partially) for a few weeks, but then proclaim themselves
to "breastfeeders" and say that breastfeeding doesn't matter, because their
babies got sick, ear infections etc anyhow - doesn't help breastfeeding
promotion.

Maybe this wasn't the best wording for the headline, but I sure wish we'd
start to see stories and stats like this in North America. No need to
weissingerize that article!

( I guess "infant mortality due to insufficient breastfeeding" would have
been more accurate)
