Hi:
I am a new subscriber to Lactnet. I work as a Perinatal Outreach nurse at a
teaching hospital in Arkansas. Prior to becoming a nurse I was a
breastfeeding mom and an LLL Leader. I am mommy of two but with my LLL
connections you would be correct in assuming I have years of personal
breastfeeding experience. However, I am and have been "out of the loop" for
years. My 15 year old BABY has refused to breastfeed for many years <G>! So
I thank you numerous knowledgeable people for your posts so I may become
more up to date in my breastfeeding education.

Regarding G-T-P-A-L and multiple births. If a woman deliveries twins,
triplets, etc. that counts as only ONE delivery. Thus a woman can be a G4 T2
P2 A0 L6. This means she has been pregnant 4 times, had 2 term deliveries, 2
preterm deliveries, 0 miscarriages or abortions, with 6 living children (2
sets of twins). You would be surprised at the number of medical personnel
who have difficulty with this concept.

Kay
