HMBANA's # is (203) 232-8809. Testing required for milk donars- must have
negative serological tests for HIV-1, HIV-2, HTLV-1, HBV, and HCV. Then
there are several screening forms- ie-donor consent, medical release, etc,
etc, etc. There are some exclusions to donating today also. There are some
individuals that will accept milk for research purposes though. If truly
interested in more details there is "Guidelines for the Establishment and
Operation of a Donor Human Milk Bank" available for sale by HMBANA. I want
to say there are about 8 Milk Banks left in existance in US today.
