There is a *lot* of material on this topic in the archives. Of course,
being women of "vision" there are a lot of matches that come up which do
not pertain to this topic, but it is not hard to find the ones that do. It
is interesting reading.

I copied a couple from 1997 that can get you started.

Numerous hormonal changes in women influence corneal curvature. Low
estrogen levels during menopause create dry eyes. There was an article
about this in the lit. a while back which concluded that contact lenses
should not be prescribed in lactating women due to temporary changes in
corneal curve. Their advice: wait and just wear glasses in the meantime.
It may be the vision changes are real; fear that the changes will cause
persistant damage are probably unfounded.

Hi Folks:
SB Park, KJ Lindahl, GO Temnycky et al in their article "The Effect of
Pregnancy on Corneal Curvature"  (Contact Lens Associ of Opthal J 1992;
18:256-259) speak about the ocular changes during pregnancy that may include
problems with contact lenses. Corneal curvature increases during the
pregnancy, then decreases postpartum. Prolactin may cause corneal edema,
although there may be other factors involved. The recommendation is made to
wait for new glasses or lenses until complete weaning.
Hope this helps....regards from Nikki Lee
