Here's the thing ... Hodgkins Lymphoma is NOT a communicable disease.  The
mothers' own milk will protect the baby against childhood cancers as well as
infections that are likely to put the baby in hospital (5 times increased
risk of admission due to gastro and 2.5 times increased risk of admission
due to pneumonia).  Having to care for a sick baby while undergoing cancer
treatment would be an added burden this family doesn't need right now.
Avoiding formula will protect the baby from illness.  The spit-up issue is
in all likelihood a co-incidence and should be treated as a laundry issue
because it is unlikely to be a health issue.
