My husband is a great advocate of breastfeeding and will tell all his
relatives and friends who are unaware of the benefits of breastfeeding,

"Breastmilk is like beer (something many men enjoy)
Would you rather drink it "on tap" or from a can?"

Many men smile and nod when he says this.


I use a balloon to illustrate the concept of engorgement.  The "nipple"
on the end of the balloon will protrude nicely to demonstrate proper
latch.  It the balloon gets blown up too big, the "nipple" flattens out
and is impossible to grasp (latch.)
