I am *so* glad to hear that the state legislation in place helped to pave
the way for a change in policy. What a heart-warming story!

I would just like to note that involving media to gain news coverage and
therefore public support is an important part of lobbying for change, and we
should try not to convey the message that people who have chosen to use this
technique are doing the wrong thing.

Publicity is one of many tools in the activist's toolkit. It's not always
the right tool. When it is the right tool, it can be incredibly effective.
