Nancy, as a physician how can we do this? Until recently we were doing
many consults after moms were discharged from the hospital, then the
hospital (where my partner and I used to work for), got a grant and are
making appt.'s for the moms for 3 day follow-up appt.'s. We know the
consultants and they do not have the experience of dealing with the
problems we have because they see moms right after birth, and those moms
then see us with destroyed nipples that they got while in the hospital!
What can we do? Both of us are RN's as well as IBCLC's. We love our
competitors, the consultants in the hospital because we have worked with
them for years, but they can only spend a short time with each patient.
 Thank you.
