Judy:

       a) i think this may be better question for Dr. Hale but...in the
states this is a product called tegrin...it is over the counter and
topical...coal tar is believed to be keratolyic,(lossening  pf horney layer
of skin) antiseptic anti pruritic and astringent....allantoin isa debriging
and dispersing agent.

      you may be on a better ract with monitoring diet...no fun but...is the
infant taking any other substances in? prenats with iron for mom?
