Once again we are on the roller coaster of nite shift giving formula and once we do that we now have babies who seem insatiable.
I went to kellymom.com and downloaded Jan Barger's "Second Night" and have started putting it out to not only staff but to MDs.
My manager told me "Your on hospital patient ed committee, get it approved as a handout and we will go with it".? Almost fell off the chair.
That means I could get a Spanish translation done and we might have a leg up. But in speaking with fellow LCs we are also interested in a really good
consent we could present that would require Moms to request in writing and give guidelines on giving formula for medical reasons only.
Nite staff would then have to go with the policy and not allow formula adlib.
Please send them to me directly.
Thanks,
