I think one reason Moms might be weaning around 4 to 5 months is that many
popular BF books 'run out' of information at this point! Like you get tons
of tips about newborns, early growth spurts, etc. - but after 3 months the
books move on to starting solids and weaning! I remember feeling quite at a
loss when my baby turned 4 months and there were no more chapters on
breastfeeding!
