I am applying for a position as breastfeeding promotions coordinator for
WIC in Vermont (and I am very appreciative of the recent conversations
about WIC and breastfeeding - it has been great to hear what others around
the US are doing to promote breastfeeding!) They have just asked me my
salary requirements, and I am curious what others doing contract work for
WIC are being paid, particularly in breastfeeding promotion. Ultimately, I
just want to be able to do the work that I am passionate about and leave my
soul-less day job, but it would be nice to ask for a living wage as well ;-
) I am not IBCLC or CLC - mostly have gotten into this situation through
being able to run a meeting well, serving on our Loving Support steering
committee, and having a passion for promoting breastfeeding, especially as
moms go back to work.

Please respond to me privately.

Thanks so much for any help,

Kirsten Berggren, PhD, working mom's breastfeeding advocate, and aching to
make the switch so that supporting breastfeeding moms can be a part of my
day-to-day life!
