I agree with you on this and I work at WIC in the USA. We have to promote "safe Sleep" 

At a recent conference, both Dr McKenna and State of Massachusetts DPH and WIC State staff spoke and (although I left early b/c it was too beautiful out,....and it was a Saturday......) I get that the truth is somewhere in the middle and both sides are "right"
