it didn't take her so long though. bw was 8#13, there was probably some
loss from there, so by 2 weeks, she'd gained at least 10 oz (but
probably closer to a lb based on lowest weight). am I reading that
correctly?

but from 2 to five it was only an ounce? and there was an
illness.......was the 2 wk weight a different scale than the 5 wk
weight? maybe a full wet diaper was worn at the 2 wk check? odd
perhaps. I can only say that when my youngest is ill (with anything),
she almost always looses weight despite frequent nursing. She's 28 mos
and weighs 22.5 lbs....the nurse was about to say 22 lbs when I said "uh
uh, she weighed 22.5 when we were here 8 wks ago for her infectected
toe." so she worked it up to 22.5 to maintain.

everything sounds good.

<<Is it just the illness that

could be. more likely though that it's a combination of
things.....maybe a difference in scales, maybe an incorrect weight
somewhere early on (maybe at the 2 wk visit?) ...maybe lost a little
while sick so has actually gained a good bit. hard to say exactly -
but all of those are possible.
