I love the Celebrity Baby Blog for their bf advocacy, but do they have to auction off products that isolate newborns from their mothers? Worse than counterproductive, IMO.

As for teens, an effort is doomed to failure when we look for the reasons why it cannot succeed. I suggest you begin with the belief that teen moms, like all moms will do what is best for their babies when they have knowledge and support. Teens are no less likely to bf than anyone else

when given the support they need, but you need to find out what that looks like for them. We found that having a peer counselor who was an adult combined with an active teen moms group was essential. Returning to school after
having a baby is in no way a guarantee of graduating, especially as
one baby very often leads to another baby. Teens are more likely to finish school when they bf than when they do not, b/c they are less likely to have a second baby when they bf and b/c they tend to be more attached and committed to their own futures. In the teen population I worked with, being in school was less a barrier to continuing to bf than were the attitudes of school and health care staff who were so unsupportive.
