The DepoProvera literature, which I just looked at online, clearly states
that women who are breastfeeding should wait six weeks for the injection,
differentiates those women who are not breastfeeding as eligible immediately
postpartum.  I also work in a situation where women receive the shots before
discharge, usually 48 hours, whether they are breastfeeding or not.  This
may give credence to why so many mothers tell me they do not have enough
milk.
