This description sets off some alarm bells for me.  If the mother is so
concerned about his weight, why is she postponing nursing and trying to
satifsy him with a pacifier?  Perhaps there is something more going on here?
  Munchhausen's-by-proxy or some other weirdness??  Just a thought.
