I'd have to go digging for the old wet nurses ref (I think I'd have it
somewhere but it would only be a line in the midst of a paper). However, I
think that you would like this paper
Slome, C. (1956). "Nonpuerperal lactation in grandmothers." Journal of
Pediatrics. 49(5): 550-552

It's one of my favourites for a few reasons. Firstly these women had not
intended to relactate, they were just baby-sitting and putting their
grandchildren to the breast for comfort. Secondly, some of them were
certainly post-menopausal. Thirdly, the paper was written at a time when
there was great skepticism about the strange thing of women making milk when
they hadn't recently been pregnant and so the paper includes a photo of this
old woman holding up her breast and squirting milk out of it! I use it in
all my general presentations about relactation.
