"Is there another treatment or type of med that
wouldn't force weaning? Thanks for any info you can give me!!"

Jessica,
This is part of a post from a naturopathy board. Unfortunately, the naturopath is no longer there, but he posted this about a month ago.

"Naturopathic therapy for hyperthyroidism involves a vegan diet emphasizing foods which antagonize thyroid excess (known as goitrogens). Soy and the broccoli
family of vegetables are among these.

The herbs Lycopus and Leonurus as well as Eleutherococcus and occasionally Lithospermum are part of a reliable naturopathic protocol for hyperthyroidism. See
an N.D. in your area or a medical herbalist for dosing."
