This is obviously a case where the bottle "just isn't sufficiant" for
the baby...he's still hungry afterwards, but doesn't want to deal with
it, so he'd rather nurse. ;-) (she says rather tongue-in-cheek,
thinking of the people who say that there's "not enough milk" or the
"milk's not rich enough" if the baby takes a bottle after nursing!!!)

On a more serious not though...is it perhaps possible that given the 2
methods of taking food in are very different, that the baby completely
tired out his "bottle sucking" muscles, but was able to keep going on
his "bf suckling" muscles...and that if the mom had bf first he'd have
done the same thing...that sometimes, for young babies who tire quickly,
perhaps it's easier to have 2 different methods of feeding to keep the
muscles from getting so tired out? I may be grasping at straws here,
but I know that for me, I may have a really sore jaw from eating hard
crusty bread, but am still able to suck on a straw with a thick
milkshake at the other end...

Or I may have very stiff muscles from mountain climbing, but can still
participate in an Aquafit class...as the muscles are not all the same
ones being used, and are being used differently by the 2 activities, so
in essence I can perhaps burn 1.5 times as many calories if I do 2
different exercises as if I just do 1 until I'M totally wiped...???

Maybe not...but maybe???

Fio.
