I am an LC for WIC. We don't teach group classes (at the moment), but I have been thinking about getting a paced bottle feeding pamphlet for our moms who need to feed EBM for one reason or another (return to work or school, or because we have a RASH of moms who are told by the hospital/pediatrician that they need to pump for supplementation after breastfeeding, instead of actually helping with breastfeeding management). Today, I found a great article on it: http://nurturedchild.ca/index.php/pumping-bottle-feeding/bottle-feeding/
Then, I thought it may be good for our WIC moms who are dead-set against breastfeeding to get an article like this before they deliver. Perhaps it would help to normalize breastfeeding for them, and, maybe, just maybe, this would encourage them to at least try breastfeeding. I do think it would violate the WHO code, as it would be given to all our moms who have the intention of formula feeding (not just when they ask). I could be wrong!
Just my 2 cents!
Happy New Year!
