>They liked the trivia game. I gave out Medela pens that the rep had sent
me,
for first correct answer. Then I gave them *all* a small box of 'Smarties'
for being so smart! They like getting prizes.<

I am not challenging the idea of the game or giving prizes, but I want to
say that I find it completely astonishing that *these* prizes were given.
Medela pens? What message does this send -- its ok to shill for companies
as long as their products are not covered by the WHO/UNICEF code
SPECIFICALLY? Smarties???? In the UK, Rowntree, the maker of Smarties, was
bought by Nestle a decade or more ago. My children have grown up knowing
that they should never buy smarties -- though allowed to eat those given to
them in party bags -- because (as they put it) Nestle kills babies.

Mind you, on the pump issue, knowing that the JHL is full of astonishing and
offensive advertising of pumps, it does tend to encourage this lax attitude
to using their promotional products as if it were something acceptable.
