The current policy at Phoenix Children's Hospital Level III ICN is to change breast milk syringes every 3 hours and the tubing which leads to the gavage tubing every 24 hours (for continuous feeds). After reviewing the Third Edition Human Milk Bank "Recommedations for Collection..." we are considering changing the syringes and tubing every 4 hours. What are other Level III ICNs doing? Please Email me privately. Thanks!
Jenny Bowen, RN, IBCLC
