When I moved from postpartum RN to Lactation Consultant, there was a
small raise and I believe I was classified as a "woman's health
specialist.  We have an extensive women's health service with a
number of Rns in "specialty" roles.  I was required to get my next
level on the career path (Clinical Norse III) as soon as possible
and thought at first that that was to justify my increased pay, but
I also got the raise that accompanies completion of the upgrade
also.
