Hi Rob,
From my personal observations, I must comment that kittens will nurse as long
as the "momma" cat lets them. (And it doesn't have to be their biological
momma cat.)
We had two 3 year old kittens, who continued to nurse until their momma ran
away from our home. Lucky for these "kittens" (?), another cat also at our
house had "new" kittens, and allowed the "big kittens" to continue nursing
until the "big kittens" and their owner moved away from our house.....
Must admit those are now the biggest, healthiest 8 year old cats I have ever
seen.
