<Perhaps there is another way to convey that the problem is not as much

which substitute is being used as that breastfeeding is not done. I am
going to make it something that I will work towards, finding a different
way
to describe the problem of not breastfeeding. Perhaps, "risks of breast
milk substitutes?">

I've been doing a lot of thinking about that one lately myself, making up
some new scripts. For most WIC moms, my gut feeling is that "risks" may
be too bombastic or actually taken as insulting their mothering by some.

I am toying with "Of course, all formulas are really artificial
imitations of your milk. I'm sure they try to do the best they can
starting with cow's milk or soy beans, but no one will ever be able to
exactly duplicate what you make, with living cells for immunities and
just the kind of nourishment nature means for your baby to have."
