I have a client whose first child has celiac disease which is under
control. Her new little boy--5 weeks--is showing signs of the disease. We
are still exploring the situation.

His stools aren't strong smelling, though he did have a few days of green,
mucousy diarrhea, which resolved with elimination of the gluten foods from
mom's diet and more careful elimination of dairy and soy. He has shown
intestinal irritation with soy.

He was better yesterday, but this morning she had a corn-based cereal,
which listed a possibility of some soy. He has diarrhea again. We were
wondering if it could be the corn. She says that corn is accepted by
people with celiac. But I have found that corn does have gluten also. Is
there some gluten that aggravates celiac and some that doesn't?

She is ready to go off corn, but wonders about corn syrup. If he has either
celiac or "just" an allergy, would she have to go off corn syrup too?

Poor little guy seems to be refluxing a lot too.

My main question is about corn gluten and corn syrup.
