Many if you feel the weight gain is proper, then this might be from too much foremilk and/or an overly abundant milk supply. Baby might be fussy from getting too much foremilk causing "colic" and/or might not be able to handle mom's let down. Again, test weights would tell you how much baby is ingesting. The baby I did today that tongue clicked through the whole feeding took over 3.5 oz at the breast in 10 minutes and never stopped swallowing. Some babies cope by popping off and on. There is good information on over abundant milk supply in The Breastfeeding Answer Book that I mentioned before. --Kathy Eng
