If any of us live in countries which are seriously going to try and
implement the 2001 WHA resolution in spirit, this is the kind of product
which will need thinking about. My feeling is, once we get to grips with
the immense differences between offering solids to babies at six months and
offereing semi-solids at 4 months (if we are lucky to hang on that long), we
are going to come to a different idea of what we have called waeaing (now
called complementary feeding by WHO -- though this term is hard to use in
most of our countries as it includes 'formula' milks as complementary
foods).

I do not dispute these bag things have a theraputic use, btw, just that they
should really not represent anything on sale for normal usage.

I bought a UK mother and baby mag recently, there was a free packet of
plastic 'weaning' spoons -- marked as suitable from 4 months. All that
packaging also has to change in line with the resolution (if the UK is going
to take it seriously -- they have endorsed it officially, but I very much
doubt it will be embraced with enthusiasm, understanding or even token
obesiances).

What impact has the 2001 resolution already made in your countries?
