I sympathize with Kathy's post about clueless MDs "prescribing" herbal remedies.
OTOH, my husband was told point blank by his urologist who was seeing him for
prostatitis "don't even bother with this saw palmetto and zinc...it's useless."
Wanted to treat him with some heavy duty antibiotics and antihypertensives.

We dumped that doctor. Got a new doc who didn't mind us using the herbs. Guess
what, no more prostatitis for the last four years.

Maybe Kathy's doc just wanted to "give permission." sad to say, some of them do
feel we need their permission for almost anything.
