I consider the breastfeeding mom and baby a dyad and Rx for both. Tx for
one will NOT work without Tx for the other! The defining moment for me to
become a NP was when I had told mom what to tell ob and ped, ped was OK and
OB called me to find out what to give late that Sat pm ! I could have done
the whole thing in the first place hours before and not annoyed mom with
calling 2 drs and annoyed 2 drs with prescribing on a Sat pm! No one has
challenged me on it yet, but I have my perfectly logical answer all ready if
anyone ever does! Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
PS: if I had any q about mom's ability to take diflucan I would certainly
consult with her dr. APNO is a no-brainer tho.
