Note: today I received a request for my mailing address so that they can
send me their materials available requesting "no bottles".

Gary, thank you for your attention to my concern regarding the promotion
of a non healthful product in the advertising section of your catalog.
I appreciate that WRS does indeed have many excellent breastfeeding
friendly educational materials. On the other hand, your comment,

> First, Health Impressions sells over 500,000 different items, the bottle is only
> > one of those. Its inclusion should not be confused with an endorsement. It is
> > just one popular item that some customers prefer.

does not smooth things over because it does not address the fact that
you are marketing healthful minded products and have chosen to include
one that is just the opposite. My objection would be the same if you
had an item promoting cigarette smoking, there is no real difference.
Both have been studied extensively and cigarettes and artificial
breastmilk substitutes are well known as less than healthful choices.

What you sell, you do, in fact, endorse. I am pleased that you will be
considering my comments when designing the next catalog. Again, thank
you very much for your consideration in this matter, I'm happy to know
that WRS is so responsive to the health care community.

I will soon be sharing your response with the group of professional
lactation consultants I associate with online and welcome any further
comments you have on this matter.

Sincerely,
Denny Rice, RN, IBCLC
