I am a fairly new "lurker" since Jan. and have really enjoyed and learned on
lactnet.  As important as the decision is to breastfeed, a greater concern is
that they can begin communicating in a way that each can appreciate the time
involved.  It sometimes helps to have parents work at listing "tasks of
childcare and household chores".  This helps them look at tasks and time.
 Parenting classes also help to understand the importance of breastfeeding and
parenting.  Good luck in helping them open their eyes to each others stress.
