Re :Prednicarbate (Dermatop)

Prednicarbate ointment is a high potency, non-halogenated topical steroid.
Chemically it is an esterified derivative of prednisolone. Absorption
systemically from the skin in the mother would be extremely low. Oral
absorption by the infant is not known, but I would expect some to be absorbed.

Several suggestions:

-Use a lower potency steroid cream that can be used sparingly and maybe washed
off(maybe). Hydrocortisone, triamcinolone cream/ointment are possible choices.

-Use the Dermatop and cover the nipple(not a very good suggestion).
