Nancy Kramer's post on herbs was great! I have a question about Mother's
Milk Tea. My herbal information states that mint teas are to be avoided
because they can reduce milk supply. Spearmint is in Mother's Milk tea.
Interestingly enough old maybe 10 yrs or so boxes of this tea did not
contain any mint. Has there been a change in ideas about mint and lactation
supression? I'd like to add that Fenugreek ( which is my herb of choice
for increasing milk production) is a member of the Legume family and the
soybean subfamily. I dialog about familial sensitivities and have Mom watch
for any changes while using fenugreek tea. In my experience the Legume
family is a culprit is causing sensitivities through Mom's breastmilk
especially peanuts.
