Hello.
I recently had a call from a mother nursing a seven month old who had lab work done at her normal well-woman check up.  Total cholesterol level was 320.  She wasn't able to tell me what the break down was of the other chemistries.  All other labs and exams were normal and she had no apparent risks for heart disease.  She called for information on what was normal, as she had learned cholesterol levels elevate during lactation from a web site she visited.  I don't know for sure myself!  Has there been acceptable levels established for lactation or is there a general percentage of increase that has been documented?
