Barb has asked how Evenflo can be Code compliant while stating that it will sell bottles and artificial nipples. I think she is referring to the statement Evenflo has on its home page regarding its efforts to become Code compliant. The Code is designed to guide how marketing is conducted for infant formula and other breast milk substitutes, bottles, and artificial nipples. Manufacturers can make what they wish, it is the marketing that is of concern. The statement regarding the availability of bottles and nipples in stores could be construed as promotional, but even Code experts are debating this. Code compliance for Evenflo is a process that will take some time. Companies can't just change these things overnight.

Evenflo has taken another step towards Code compliance and has?now made the same changes on its Mexican website as it did on the US website. As always, if breastfeeding advocates see any Code violations on Evenflo's or any other manufacturer's?website, or in print ads, stores, etc please report these to NABA in the US and your respective IBFAN organization for where you live.
