By the time we got to ILCA (Thurs) the Playtex display contained toddler
cups and milk storage bags. No bottles etc. I understand there was a
handout that showed a mom bottle feeding breastmilk and bottles that was
immediately removed when observed by ILCA admin. I didn't get the message
that they were promoting their cups for infant feeding.

Foley cups were present in the exhibit area, donated by the company and
given out free. Pump companies were there promoting milk removal. In the
real world many moms return to work or have other circumstances (premie,
sick etc.) and need to know how to continue providing safe, clean milk for
their babies

I realize that some companies that sell "gadgets" we use, also sell
"gadgets" we hate (bottles), but if we censure them totally isn't that like
throwing the baby out with the bath water?

The realities of life for the working poor in the US is a life of hassle,
poor resources, and overwork to care for your kids.
I guess I deal with too many moms who do "both" and it skews my view, but
I'd still rather have a baby get some breastmilk than none! It truly makes a
difference in the number of sick/well vss in the chart.
Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
