It's the beginning of the cold and flu season here in the Northeast and we're starting to get questions about what can be taken while breastfeeding. I've found some good "natural" suggestions but wonder if anyone knows whether the Airborne product is safe for these mothers. The ingredients are listed as a proprietary blend of herbal extracts (lonicera, forsythia, schizonpeta, ginger, Chinese vitek, isatis root, and echinacea) as well as the usual sweetener and flavoring ingredients to make it palatable and effervescence if mixed with water. We looked up these herbs in the Nursing Mother's Herbal book and the ones we found say they are GRAS. Does anyone with a more learned eye have any concerns?
