We have trained volunteers come and do the hearing screen in the mother's
room. This cuts down on the pressure to do the test right this minute while
the nurse is available. If the baby is awake the volunteer comes back when
they are asleep. They sometimes follow me on my rounds because the baby is
asleep after a feed and I have usually cleared the room of extraneous
visitors. Anyone else notice that when you come in and say the breast word
the room tends to clear?
