Sorry, gang. Thanks for the effort, Kathy Dettwyler, Kathleens A & B,
anyone else who wrote, your letters were beautiful and professional, but
I don't think my boss even read them. He was infuriated by my "chutzpa"
in soliciting your help and threw the most UNprofessional temper tantrum
I have seen in a while. Now, not only can I not receive Lactnet, but he
told me that he forbids me to receive any email in "his house" (referring
to the office in which we both work). I plan to ask the university
whether he has the right to do this (he probably does), but will have to
wait until after the month of Jewish holidays. Meanwhile, I will try to
set up something at the university computer center to get my mail there.

Why am I putting this sorry situation on Lactnet? Two reasons: (1) to
exemplify to the international organizations promoting breastfeeding how
unimportant lactation is in Israel, and with what disdain and contempt
even, lactation counsellors are held here; and (2) someday, someone will
be doing an "international history of lactation support and promotion" -
let this episode be read alongside the mendacious platitudes of the
Israeli health system.

I hope I'll be able to write soon, but I guess I'll be nomail for a
while..... Kathleens, is this OK or do I unsubscribe? I hate to do the
latter since maybe I'll be able to work something else out at the
computer center fairly soon.

Thanks to everyone. What a miserable way to start the year.....
Written in anger towards some, but with love for all of you.
