I have very enthusiastic permission to share this, as this mom has limited
resources. I have been speaking w/ this mother online, she has been
breastfeeding without incident for seven months. She has recently developed
a persistent rash on her areaola that has lasted 30 days and has /now spread
to her other side. It is painful for her, and she says it oozes and weeps all day.

She has seen an MD who initially treated her for a virus, giving her an antiviral
med and told her not to bf for 3 days, then tests showed no virus. Now she is
scared to go back to the MD bc it was 3 horrible days for her and her baby w/
no bf.

She has not seen an LC, as she is in Korea where her husband is stationed and
can not find someone who speaks english to help her.

She sent me pictures to ask what I thought, hoping for some insight and info
to bring with her when she sees the MD again, and it looks like it could be
areaolar eczema to me, but my books w/ pics are at work, and trying to
google images is not showing me much more then severe cases. I am also
finding little info regarding this online. Not much more than a paragraph here
abnd there.

Does anyone know of any good web resources for pictures or information that
I can send her to share with her MD?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Heather
